America’s Luckiest Street Names, Ranked (20 Years of Lottery Data)

Luck shows up in all sorts of places, at the end of a rainbow, inside a four-leaf clover, on St. Patrick’s Day… or maybe even right outside your front door.

To find out the luckiest locations of all, our researchers analyzed more than 20 years of U.S. lottery results, examining 160,000+ winning tickets. For every jackpot win, we identified the retailer that sold the ticket, and crucially, the street name attached to that location.

By mapping and tallying every winning address, we were able to rank the street names that have produced the highest amount of winning tickets nationwide.

So, if you live on one of these streets, or pass a lottery store with one of these names on your daily commute, it might be worth making a small detour.

Methodology:

To identify America’s luckiest street names, we analyzed over 20 years of Mega Millions and Powerball winning ticket data, requested from each state.

In total, more than 160,000 jackpot-winning tickets were examined. For each winning entry, we recorded the licensed retailer that sold the ticket, including the full store address. Street names were then extracted from each address and standardized to ensure consistency (for example, combining variations such as “Main St.” and “Main Street,” and grouping directional variants such as North Main, South Main, East Main, and West Main under “Main”).

Each street name was ranked based on the total number of winning tickets sold at addresses bearing that name.

Total jackpot prize value was also calculated for additional context, though rankings were determined by frequency of winning tickets rather than total prize money.
